Here’s a volunteer ask email I wrote at The Next Generation for Rebecca Saltzman’s successful re-election campaign for BART Board in the 2016 general election. As with other emails for her campaign, the candidate herself had final approval and did a final edit.

The election is less than a week away, and it’s time to get out the vote!
I’ve been campaigning at BART stations throughout District 3, and I need your help for a final push on Monday, November 7th, the day before Election Day. Please sign up to hand out my re-election campaign literature at a BART station on Monday morning or evening.
I’ve been getting very positive feedback at BART stations and at voters’ doors about my vision of reinvesting in BART. But there are still many voters who don’t know much about what the BART Board does or about which candidates are running. That means that our efforts over the next several days will make the difference between winning and losing.
If you can’t make it on Monday, you can still help spread the word:
- Send an email to your friends, family, and coworkers encouraging them to vote for me. Feel free to use information from the campaign website about what I’ve accomplished in my first term and what I hope to accomplish in my second term. (The District includes all or parts of Albany, Berkeley, El Cerrito, Kensington, Lafayette, Moraga, Oakland, Orinda, Piedmont, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, and unincorporated areas of Alameda and Contra Costa County.)
- Spread the word on Facebook. Please share on Facebook this opinion piece by labor and business leaders supporting my re-election campaign.
- Text out the vote. Think of five people you know in District 3 and text them to tell them about me and to remind them to vote all the way down the ballot.
